I am looking for information on two uncles that worked for bethlehem steel in washington state and lived in california. Vincent Tedeschi's obituary read: Vincent Tedeschi, 82 South San Francisco, died Sunday at Kaiser Hospital in South San Francisco. He was a retired employee at Bethlehem Steel Corp and a member of the Italian Catholic Federation of South San Francisco. A native of Italy, he had resided in South San Francisco, 51 years. Survivors include his widow, Teresa, a son Alfred of Bakersfield, four grandchildren and a sister in France. He was born in Italy on 05/02/1891, and died on 03/31/1974 in San Mateo. His SS# is 55-09-6194. I believe he worked for Bethlehem Steel in Washington State, perhaps in Seattle, but I am not certain. His brother Luigi Del Tedesco, also worked for Bethlehem Steel, most likely in Seattle. He also moved to Pittsburg, California where there was another steel mill owned by Columbia Steel, and may have worked there also. He was born Novermber 16, 1898 in Fontanafredda, Pordenone, Italy, and died on July 9, 1954 in Pittsburg, California. His SS# 566-05-9040. Anyb information you can give me on these two brothers, my uncles, would be greatly appreciated. I should tell you that Vincent Tedeschi's real name is Vincenzo Del Tedesco, we do not know when or why he changed it to Tedeschi, but the name he was born with is Vincenzo Del Tedesco, the name he died with is Vincent Tedeschi. Hello. Would appeciate any information or leads relative to the Della Penna family from Abruzzo region of Italy. Specifically, Desiderio Della Penna, born May 16, 1858 or 1859 possibly in Casalbordino, Chieti Province. He emigrated to the US in 1880 (per the 1930 Census)when he was about 22. My grandfather came over through NY and settled in Chicago. His name was Emilio Del Rosso. He sent for my grandmother Zaira Velitti her mother Emilie Fontana father Frank Velliti. Emilio had a brother Amedeo who also settled in Chicago Il. My great grandfathers name was Carmine Del Rosso and his wifes name Rosa Rodorigo. The family was mostly killed in the 1915 earthquake in Avezzano. There are Del Rossos still in Chicago and spread over the country. Both my parents and grandparents are gone and little is known about the family in Italy. I am traveling to Avezzano in June of 2003, I hope to have more to go on before I travel. Hi Joe think I wrote to u before and someone sent me the manafest to the Spartan Prince, the ship my greatgrandfather came on I found him Salvatore Modugno he left Avellino Italy in 1902 at age 38. Could not find my grandfather Eugene Modugno or his mother. Perhaps they left at a different time. Any information would be very helpful as my Dad is 85 and loves hearing this news.Aso a bad thing happened to me my Computer died and I lost all the files I had saved.
