I too have had the pleasure of eating Balboni's wonderful star bread. My husband is Italian and grew up on Balboni's bread. I'm a southerner and though I had died and gone to heaven when I ate my first piece of star bread. When we frequent MA we usually buy as much star bread and breadsticks as we can and pray they don't discintegrate as we croos the Mason Dixon.

We did try to sweet talk a recipe from Ms. Balboni to no avail. The only thing she would say is that the star bread is the same as Italian twist bread but just in the shape of a star. I don't think she meant to tell us that. Needless to say I can't find a recipe for Italian twist bread either.

Please let me know if you find a reipe for either.

Good luck and happy hunting!
